On June 8, 2019, Amity Counseling, LLC opened its doors as a group practice in order to provide more diverse care to the surrounding area. This also allows us to employ therapists as a way to increase services we offer.
Prior to becoming an LLC, Amity Counseling was established as a private practice on March 15, 2017 in Lawton, Oklahoma by Karlie Parry, MS, NCC, LPC.
Why Amity Counseling?
Amity is defined as the cooperative and supportive relationship between people. The term describes a relationship with mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect. It is giving service to friends in times of need or crisis.
"Mutual understanding and a peaceful relationship; peace; accord."
Providing this environment is essential to our treatment goal.
Why the Celtic Tree logo?
The Celtic Tree of Life symbol has many different interpretations.
*Represents harmony and balance.
*Symbolizes strength, a long life, and wisdom.
*Represents rebirth - loses its leaves during the fall season, hibernates throughout the winter, and is reborn once spring arrives.
*Trees guard the land and acted as a doorway into the spiritual world.
*Connects the lower and upper worlds as its roots grow far down while its branches reach high. The tree trunk connects both of these worlds to the Earth’s plane.
Any of these symbols can be integrated into an individual's belief system. You can incorporate all of them, one of them, or none of them.
Take what you connect with and leave the rest.
